Microsoft is constantly working to enhance the security and user experience of Windows 11. To achieve this, the company is releasing builds more frequently, along with updated functionality and bug patches.

 

A new update (KB5023774, OS Build 22000.1761) for Windows 11 version 21H2 and (KB5023778, OS Build 22621.1485) for Windows 11 version 22H2 was just released by the firm for testing by Windows insiders in the Release Preview Channel before the final distribution with the Patch Tuesday update next month. Also, general users can test it by going to the optional updates page.

  • New! The taskbar's search box is now easier to use. Thanks to this upgrade. Search results are now displayed in the search flyout box as you type in the search field. By navigating to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar, you can also modify the search experience you desire for your taskbar. This update for commercial clients introduces a new policy for IT administrators to control how the taskbar search box appears in your company.
  • The Notepad box in Settings is affected by the problem that is fixed in this release. It doesn't display all of the alternatives.
  • This patch fixes a problem with Microsoft PowerPoint. It halts replying. When you employ accessibility technologies, this happens
  • This patch resolves a problem with USB printers. Despite not being multimedia devices, the system labels them as such.
  • This update fixes a problem that exists with Xbox subscribers. The Xbox subscription card does not show up on the Settings Accounts tab if you buy an Xbox subscription using the "Redeem code" option. When recurring billing is disabled, this happens.

  • The update addresses an issue that affects the Remote Procedure Call Service (rpcss.exe). The issue might cause a race condition between the Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) and the Microsoft Remote Procedure Call (RPC) endpoint mapper.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects Microsoft PowerPoint. It stops working on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD). This occurs when you use Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
  • This update addresses compatibility issues that affect some printers. These printers use Windows Graphical Device Interface (GDI) printer drivers. These drivers do not completely adhere to GDI specifications.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects the SharedPC account manager. It cannot delete multiple accounts during cleanup.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects the new Windows Runtime (WinRT) API. This issue stops an application from querying for location information using MBIM2.0+.

  • This update affects the “Set a default associations configuration file” Group Policy Object (GPO). You can now use it to create an extension to specific applications.
  • This update addresses an issue that affects the Simple Certificate Enrollment Protocol (SCEP) certificate. The system reports some SCEP certificate installations as failed. Instead, the system should report them as pending.
