As it is the second Tuesday of the month, it's time for patching all supported versions of Microsoft Windows operating systems. Being the second patch of the year, Microsoft now started rolling out the Windows 10 February 2023 Patch Tuesday (KB5022834, KB5022840) update for versions 20H2, 21H2, 22H2, and Windows 11 February 2023 Patch Tuesday (KB5022845 and KB5022836) update for version 21H2 and 22H2.

Windows 11 KB5022845, KB5022836 update - What's new and improved

This version adds a few security enhancements and fixes to the internal workings of the OS. The following bugs and enhancements have been addressed by the Windows 11 KB5022845, KB5022836 update:

  • When the Input Method Editor (IME) is active, applications will continue working when you use the mouse and keyboard at the same time.
  • If you convert or reconvert Japanese Kanji using a multibyte character set (MBCS) app, they now move to the correct location when you type.
  • Opening an image file you find using search on the taskbar will now open in your preferred photo application instead of the photo print dialog.
  • Microsoft has addressed an issue that stops you from searching for a file based on the file’s contents.
  • Microsoft fixed an issue preventing Windows from entering sleep mode when a game controller is connected.
