Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 10 users that addresses an issue with the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) connectivity. The latest update is rolling out as KB5020435 to all supported versions of Windows 10 i.e. version 20H2, 21H1, and 21H2.

 

Along with this, Microsoft also released Windows 11 Build 22000.1100 as KB5020387 update to Windows 11 users running version 21H2.

What's new and improved in Windows 10 KB5020435 update

With the release of Windows 10 build 19042.2132, 19043.2132, and 19044.2132 Microsoft addresses an issue in the Windows 10 Operating System that might have affected some types of SSL and TLS connections.

 

Microsoft said that these connections might have failed while performing a handshake.

 

For developers, the affected connections are likely to receive one or more records followed by a partial record with a size of fewer than 5 bytes within a single input buffer, says Microsoft.

You should have received this update notification if your Windows Update service is enabled. If not, open the Windows 10 Settings app, navigate to Windows Update and click the "Check for Updates" button.
