How to enable Predictive Text feature on Windows 10 desktop?

Predictive Text is an input technology that facilitates typing by suggesting and inserting the words as you type. When enabled, it reduces the number of keys that the user has to type while writing. This feature you can see enabled on mobile, and on some sites like Gmail, Outlook.com.

If you are wondering, Windows 10 also comes with the Predictive Text feature, but that is enabled by default for tablets. If you are using the Windows 10 desktop mode, you can enable it by following the steps below.

How to turn ON the Predictive Text feature on Windows 10 desktop?

1. Open the Windows 10 Settings app (Win + I), and navigate to the Devices | Typing page.
2. Scroll down to the Hardware keyboard section.
3. Turn ON the toggle that says Show text suggestions as I type, as shown in the following screenshot:

Next time when you open any text editing app like Notepad or Word, you will see the text hints popping up at your cursor position once you start typing. It will also suggest the next words based on the current word that you have just inserted. Press the Up Arrow to select the first word. To select the next or previous word, use the Right Arrow or Left Arrow respectively.
