Initially, the update is being offered to seekers with compatible devices. If it's not yet offered to your system, you can perform a clean installation by downloading the latest ISO/DVD image.

Once you have download the disk image file, you can burn it to a DVD or USB drive, and boot it from there. Here's we will be sharing 5 simple steps to make a Windows 10 bootable USB pen drive.

5 simple steps to create Windows 10 bootable USB drive

Before you start the process to create the bootable USB drive with Windows 10 October 2020 Update, you will need the Windows 10 bootable USB tool. There are plenty of tools available, but one of my favorite for this is "Rufus". As a first prerequisite of the process, download the latest version of Rufus for free from the product site.

As a second prerequisite, you will need the latest ISO image of Windows 10. Follow the steps mentioned here to download Windows 10 October 2020 Update DVD/ISO image from the Microsoft server for free.

As a third and most important prerequisite, you will need a good pen drive or a high-speed SD Card with at least 8GB/16GB space.

Once you have met the above prerequisites, follow the steps mentioned below to make a bootable USB with the Windows 10 October 2020 Update ISO:

  1. Launch the "Rufus" tool.
  2. Select the USB device which you want to make as a bootable device.
  3. Click the "SELECT" button, and select the Windows 10 ISO image from your local drive.
  4. Select the Standard Windows installation, Partition scheme, and Target system as shown in the below screenshot:

  6. Click the START button when you are ready.

It will format the drive to NTFS format. So, you will lose all existing data (if any) stored in that USB device. Wait for few minutes for the operation to complete. Once it finishes the operation, you will have a bootable USB drive with Windows 10 October 2020 Update installation media.

Next, plug-in the USB drive on the system where you want to clean install Windows 10 with the latest update. Then restart the system and follow the on-screen instructions to start the installation process.
