📢 Microsoft Edge now suggests strong and unique passwords, and here's how to enable it

The latest version of Microsoft Edge (Chromium) not only alerts you when it finds your credentials leaked somewhere in the Dark Web, but now also suggests you a random, strong, and unique password when you visit a site to create a new account.

Microsoft added a new feature called "Suggest strong passwords" to Microsoft Edge 87 (enabled by default). If you are currently running Edge Canary or Edge Dev build, you can try out it now. The feature will soon roll out to the stable release channel.

How to enable strong and unique passwords in Microsoft Edge?

1. Open your Microsoft Edge browser.
2. Press ALT + F, and navigate to Settings | Profiles | Passwords.
3. As shown in the following screenshot (highlighted), click to enable "Suggest strong passwords":

Once the setting is enabled, Microsoft Edge will suggest strong passwords and, if you choose to use them, they will be saved and filled automatically next time.

Now, when you visit a website and click to create a new account, you can select "Use Suggested Password" in the password field box to select Microsoft Edge suggested a unique and strong password. Here's a screenshot:

If you are using Microsoft Edge on Android or iOS, and syncing is enabled, the newly generated passwords will also be available on the mobile devices.

Please note that the feature is currently available to Edge Insiders who are running Canary or Dev build of Microsoft Edge 87 or higher. The feature will soon roll out to the Beta and Stable release channel.
