Microsoft announces the availability of the next feature update of Windows 10 version 20H2 for commercial pre-release validation. The device will be considered as commercial if it is not running the Home Edition of Windows 10, and managed by an IT administrator.

According to the company, this update will be rolled out via an enablement package; making the update process remarkably fast if you are upgrading from Windows 10 version 2004 to 20H2.

Windows 10's next feature update (v20H2) is ready for commercial testing

Microsoft said that the Windows 10 version 20H2 will be automatically deployed to all commercial devices in the Beta and Release Preview Channels and those who have devices on Windows 10 version 2004.

As the Windows 10 versions 1903, 1909, 2004, and 20H2 share a common core operating system with an identical set of system files, the new features were already included in monthly quality updates for version 2004 in an inactive and dormant state. When you install Windows 10 version 20H2, the new features will come out of the dormant state by turning on the "enablement package". It's a small, quick-to-install "master switch" that activates the Windows 10 version 20H2 features, says Microsoft.

A point to note that the Windows 10 version 20H2 is the second major update for 2020, following the launch of Windows 10 version 2004 released earlier this year. It will include some major changes like a revamped Start menu and a preinstalled Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browser.
