Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, most of the IT companies moved to a WFH (Work From Home) option to safeguard their employees as well as providing support customers. In the long run, Microsoft Teams is becoming a popular platform for corporates to communicate and interact with the team members.

To make it to the next level, Microsoft announces a new feature called "Together Mode" that will make the virtual interactions more natural by using AI segmentation technology and placing the participants in a shared background.

As most of the corporate employees are now working from home, they are not getting the feel of in-person collaborations. And thus the video meetings become more fatigue. To overcome this, Microsoft announces a new AI-based collaboration feature to Microsoft Teams.

With the new "Together Mode" feature, Microsoft is trying to put all the participants in a shared background, making it feel like you are sitting in the same room with all other participants in the meeting or class.

Together mode uses AI segmentation technology to digitally place the participants, making meetings more engaging by helping you focus on the faces and body language of the other participants. It's great for meetings in which multiple people will speak, such as brainstorms or roundtable discussions.

Here's a quick tour of the feature from Microsoft, demonstrating how it will look and provide you the feeling of attending in-person events:

Together Mode is currently rolling out with an auditorium view and will be generally available in August 2020. Microsoft mentioned that they are going to bring more views to Together Mode in the future.

Apart from this, Microsoft also announces some more new features for Microsoft Teams that include a Dynamic view, video filters, reflect messaging extension, Live reactions, and chat bubbles.
