Last week Microsoft released the Windows 10 May 2020 Update but rolling out to devices in a phased manner. But if you can't wait, you can upgrade with tools like Update Assistant and Media Creation Tool. But before upgrading, be warned that the update still has some bugs that may bring your device down.

As the update still has these known bugs, Microsoft now made a small change to the Windows Update page and starts notifying you if your device is not yet ready for the installation to happen on that device.

Microsoft: Windows 10 May 2020 Update version 2004 isn't quite ready to install on all devices

Though Microsoft started rolling out the first insiders build from 20H1, almost about 15 months ago and completed the development last year in December, the update still has some bugs that break unsupported devices. Microsoft accumulated these bugs in its page Known Issues in Windows 10 Version 2004.

Earlier, in the unsupported devices, it was hard to understand why the latest version of Windows 10 is not available for download. Now, Microsoft updated the page and started notifying the users in case they find any issues that may affect the upgrade. You will now see the following message in the Windows Update page if Microsoft blocks the update in case it finds a known issue in your system:

Microsoft starts notifying users if the device is not quite ready for Windows 10 May 2020 Update

The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is on its way. We're offering this update to compatible devices, but your device isn't quite ready for it. Once your device is ready, you'll see the update available on this page. There's nothing you need to do at this time.
