Windows 10 users to receive new Microsoft Edge (Chromium) through automatic updates

Though the new Microsoft Edge browser had its stable release in January 2020, the company didn't release it with the operating system updates. Rather, it was available as a standalone installer and an offline installation package.

Now the company has decided to roll out the new Microsoft Edge browser with operating system updates having Windows 10 version 1803 and higher.

But in case you need the offline installer, here you can download the latest and stable Microsoft Edge offline installer version 83.0.478.44.

The software giant said that the chromium powered Microsoft Edge will replace the legacy Edge browser that was bundled with the operating system. When installed, it will be pinned to the taskbar and create a shortcut on the desktop. Existing pinned icons on the taskbar and shortcuts on the desktop will be replaced with the new Edge logo.

The company also said in its support document that the existing data in the legacy Edge browser will be automatically migrated to the latest Microsoft Edge, which will also include user passwords and favorites.
