You can download the latest version of the chromium-based Microsoft Edge browser by navigating to the official Microsoft Edge download page. You should be running either of the following operating systems: Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, macOS, iOS, or Android.

 

Please note that Microsoft to end support for Microsoft Edge on Windows 7 by mid next year (July 15, 2021).

 

What is Focus Mode?

"Focus Mode" is an experimental feature of the chromium-powered Microsoft Edge browser. As it is still experimental, it's not enabled by default. You need to enable it from the Microsoft Edge config file to try this feature.

 

Once you enable the Focus Mode feature, you will see the Focus this tab menu item when you right-click on any tab. And the tab will open in a separate window having no controls and menus in it, giving you a full focus to the page content.

 

How to enable "Focus Mode" in Microsoft Edge (Chromium)?

  1. Open the Microsoft Edge browser, and enter "edge://flags/#focus-mode" in the address bar.
  2. From the dropdown, next to Focus Mode, select Enabled and then restart Microsoft Edge for the changes to take effect.
