Last year, in February, Microsoft released the first preview build of Windows 10 from the 20H1 branch, and one year of development ended in December. Now the software giant finally started rolling out Windows 10 May 2020 Update (20H1, version: 2004) to the users in the mainstream.

 

The rollout is going to be in a phased manner, but you can download and upgrade using the Update Assistant or Media Creation Tool.

Starting 27th May 2020, the Windows 10 May 2020 Update is available for customers who would like to install this latest release. If you are ready to install the update, open your Windows Update settings (Settings | Update & Security | Windows Update) and select Check for updates. Once the update appears under the Windows Update settings page, you can select Download and install.

 

If it is not appearing on your device, you need to wait for a few weeks as Microsoft expands the availability to all Windows 10 users in a phased manner. Once it downloads and ready for installation, you will be notified.

The Update Assistant can help you update to the latest version of Windows 10. To get started, click here and download the Update Assistant from Microsoft site. Once downloaded, double-click the application and follow the on-screen steps.

The Media Creation Tool allows you to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10. It also allows you to download the latest version of Windows 10 as an offline installer or ISO image. You can then burn it to a bootable DVD or bootable USB device, and proceed for a clean installation. To get started, you will first need to have a license to install Windows 10.
