Microsoft's 'Your Phone' app for Windows 10 gets calling support, and is available as beta release

Microsoft has brought some new capabilities to Your Phone app for Windows 10, that will allow you to make or receive calls on your Windows 10 PC without picking up your phone. The feature arrived with Windows 10 insiders preview build 18999.

 

If you are a Windows Insider in the fast ring (20H1), you can upgrade to build 18999 to experience the feature right at this moment, ahead of public release.

  • You will need Android 7 (Nougat) to avail this feature.

If you are having Android 7 (Nougat) mobile and a Windows 10 PC, you can make, receive or reject phone calls directly from your PC without picking up your phone. To do this, you will need the latest version of 'Your Phone' app (currently available to only Windows 10 fast ring insiders).

 

Your Phone app will have an in-app dialler for you to make calls. Make sure you have given the right permission to access the contact list. Bluetooth must be turned ON on both mobile and PC. When you receive a phone call, you can directly receive it from your PC, reject the call or send a custom text while rejecting it. You can also transfer your calls between PC to phone seamlessly.

 

In the release note Microsoft said that, though the feature is currently available to 20H1 branch, but it will gradually roll out to insiders on the 19H1 branch and newer.
