The chromium version of Microsoft Edge browser is now available for download in its Beta channel. Going forward it will be updated every 6 weeks with major feature set. The Edge beta channel will have most stable preview bits for you to try.

 

If you haven't experience the chromium Edge experience yet, here's how to download the Edge beta preview builds from Microsoft site.

 

Microsoft's chromium-based Edge browser is now available in the Beta channel

 

  • Edge 'Beta' channel is the third and final preview channel.
  • The beta channel will be updated every 6 weeks with latest stable build.
  • The first beta build (77.0.235.9) is available starting 20th August.
  • The beta preview build is available for both Windows and macOS.

 

In December 2018, Microsoft kicked-off the Edge Insiders program for the general public and the first insider preview build (77.0.235.9) of chromium-powered Edge was available in April 2019 through Canary and Dev channel.

 

Now Microsoft has opened the 'Beta' channel for the public to experience the most stable preview builds. Canary channel gets updated daily with nightly builds, Dev channel updates weekly, whereas the Beta channel will update every six weeks.
