If you could remember, how badly the Windows 10 October 2018 Update hit few consumers after upgrading to the latest update of Windows 10 just immediate after the release. Though the impact was not big, but it gave Microsoft time to think about improving the overall update experience.

Beginning with the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, users will have more control on installing the feature update. This has already started rolling out to few customers.

Windows 10 update experience got better with an additional 'Download and install now' button

No more surprise (likely!!!) with the next feature update of Windows 10 as Microsoft is thoroughly testing it before the final release. Also, no more surprise with the unstable build that accidentally gets installed on your system after you click Check for updates. Microsoft now started rolling out this feature to the users which will provide you a Download and install now button to confirm whether you really want to install that.

Though it was initially expected that this new Download and install now button will appear only to the feature updates, but this has now started showing out to the cumulative updates too.

The change is currently appearing on systems running Windows 10 May 2019 Update (version 1903), but it is expected to arrive on Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) and Windows 10 April 2018 Update (version 1803) as well.
