Windows 10 October 2018 Update was not a good build in the long run of Windows 10. Just few days after the release of Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft pulled it due to some critical bugs affecting a portion of users. After some pitfalls, it was then re-released in the month of November 2018.

Though the Windows 10 October 2018 Update still has some issues, Microsoft now announced that the update (Windows 10 version 1809, Windows Server 2019 and Windows Server version 1809) is available to all users who manually check for updates.

Rollout Status as of December 17, 2018: Windows 10, version 1809, is now fully available for advanced users who manually select “Check for updates” via Windows Update.

The giant company also announced that the system will trigger a flag if your device has any application compatibility issues. The update won't install in such cases. These cases include the following known issues:

  • Incompatibility issue with Microsoft Edge when a device is configured with AMD Radeon HD2000 or HD4000 series video cards.
  • A compatibility issue with Trend Micro’s OfficeScan and Worry-Free Business Security software.
  • F5 VPN clients may lose network connectivity when the VPN service is in a split tunnel configuration.
  • Incompatible Intel display driver (versions 24.20.100.6344, 24.20.100.6345) that accidentally turned on unsupported features in Windows.

If you are ready to check for updates to get the latest Windows 10 October 2018 Update installed on your system, take a backup of important data files to be in safer place.
