End of July 2017, Microsoft published a list of features those are going to be deprecated in the future version of Windows 10. The classic 'Microsoft Paint' (mspaint), which was available in all versions of Windows, was also part of that deprecated list.

Along with 'Windows 10 Insiders Preview Build 17306', Microsoft started giving an alert message saying that the product will soon be replaced by the 'Paint 3D' app.

Paint 3D app is going to replace the classic MS Paint from Windows 10 soon

Microsoft Paint was first released with Windows 1.0, in the year 1985, which was a simple raster graphics editor and supported only 1-bit monochrome graphics. Later, in every version of Windows, it got some new enhancements to reach the heart of the users. Though it is still available in Windows 10, Microsoft is planning to remove it completely in the future version of Windows.

It begin with deprecating this native app and introducing a new app called 'Paint 3D'. Windows Insiders, who have already received the Windows 10 Preview Build 17306, started receiving the message "This version of Paint will soon be replaced with Paint 3D. Classic Paint will then become available in the Store." when clicked on the 'Product Alert' button present in the toolbar.

This version of Paint will soon be replaced with Paint 3D. Classic Paint will then become available in the Store.

It's still unclear whether the app will be removed from the next major update of Windows 10 or not, but its time to begin exploring the 'Paint 3D' app. If you still love the old 'Microsoft Paint' app, you will still be able to grab it from the Microsoft Store.
