The wait is now over for Windows Insiders in the fast ring. It's been 3 weeks since the last build was released for PC users. Microsoft, in a blog post, announced the availability of the new build 16215 for fast ring PC users.

The new Windows 10 insiders preview build 16215 contains a lot of new changes for the insiders, to have their hands dirty during this weekend, and get the feedback ahead of the final release this fall.

 

This build introduces new UI for the Start and Action Center, based on the new Fluent Design System which was announced during Build 2017. If you have transparency enabled for Start, you’ll notice that it's now been updated to use the new acrylic design. Action Center has also been redesigned to provide much clearer information separation and hierarchy, with acrylic fluent design.

Now you can pin your favorite websites from Microsoft Edge to your taskbar. The site's icon will be shown to taskbar to provide you easy access to the website that you pinned. Full screen mode (F11) has also been introduced in this build. You can now annotate EPUB Books by highlighting in four different colors, underline the text and add comments to it. Along with other new changes to Microsoft Edge, you can now add tabs to favorites from the right-click context menu on tabs. You can also create a Favorites folder with all the sites open in tabs in the current window.

The new changes for Cortana includes two new features, starting with the en-US market, to remind you about events. With your permission, Cortana will now prompt you to create a reminder when she notices event posters in your camera roll. If you are a pen user, Cortana can now help you to keep track of future events on your screen. Use the new lasso tool to circle the relevant information and Cortana will recognize the time, and offer suggested follow-ups.

With this build, a new XAML-based handwriting panel has been introduced with more gestures, easier editing, emoji and more. As you write, you’ll now see your previous words convert to typed text. Press the commit button to insert all the text and clear the slate. You can make corrections within the handwriting panel by overwriting converted text or by using ink gestures.

 

The build 16215 includes Pen Interaction Improvements. Find My Device page will now help you to find your pen location by using the coordinate where and when you last inked it on your computer. Using the pen, you can now scroll content directly and fluently as you would do with your finger but currently for UWP apps. Microsoft is working to include the support for Win32 apps too.

 

Apart from all these new changes, there includes many new improvemnts for hardware keyboard, touch keyboard, dictation on desktop, enhanced share experience, access to local media folder detection for UWPs, My People app improvements, Night Light improvements, new Video Playback settings, Windows Update improvements, Game Bar improvements, virtual battery support for Hyper-V, Font improvements and many more...
