Microsoft opened up the door of Windows Store for the developers who are willing to target their UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps for Windows 10 Creators Update. They have now officially released the RTM version of the SDK Tools.

 

In order to use the latest UWP APIs of the SDK, you must upgrade your system to Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703) and use Visual Studio 2017 (version 15.1).

Windows 10 Creators Update will start rolling out beginning 11th April, via the 'Windows Server Update Service (WSUS)', worldwide. You can also manually install the build now by downloading the ISO image from MSDN Subscriber download page. Alternatively, you can use the Windows 10 Update Assistant or Media Creation Tool to manually install the Creators Update.

 

Once you have the latest build of Windows 10 running, you can install Visual Studio 2017 with the latest SDK update to build stunning UWP apps for Windows 10. This is the final release of SDK and has go-Live license for store. Microsoft opened up the Windows Store to accept UWP apps targeting Windows 10 Creators Update. The new SDK build needs to be installed in developer system to build apps with the new APIs.
