Today, Microsoft announces about Outlook 2013 RT which will come with Windows 8.1 (earlier known as Windows Blue). This will come installed for free on all new Windows RT devices like Surface. As Windows 8.1 will be an free upgrade, you will get the Outlook RT with this update.

Tami Reller, Microsoft CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and CMO (Chief Marketing Officer) of Windows department announced in Computex Taipei 2013 that Outlook 2013 RT will come with the Windows 8.1 upgrade in all Windows 8 and Windows RT devices in this fall. Tami mentioned in the event:

 

We know that the addition of Outlook for those using ARM-based Windows devices such as the Surface RT, Dell XPS 10, Lenovo Yoga 11, and ASUS VivoTab RT as well as new tablets to come in the future has been a popular request from consumers and businesses alike. As Tami said in her keynote address, we’ve listened and Outlook will be joining the other Office applications currently available on Windows RT, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

 

So, it’s not far away. We are going to get the first public preview of Windows 8.1 during the Build event. The expected release date of Windows 8.1 is 26th June 2013. So, it’s just a few weeks away when we will be able to do view Windows 8.1 as well as Outlook RT. The final version will come later fall this year.
