Microsoft confirms Windows 8.1 (Blue) Availability and Pricing

Today Tami Reller, Chief Marketing Officer for the Microsoft Windows business confirms the general availability and pricing of Windows 8.1 (Blue) at the JP Morgan Technology, Media & Telecom Conference in Boston.

 

The first public preview of next version of Windows 8 will be available during BUILD Conference going to happen at the end of June 2013.

 

Surface RTTami Reller mentioned that the next version of Windows 8 will be available during BUILD conference this year in San Fransisco. She also mentioned that the first public preview version will be available on 26th June 2013. So, to get the hands on with the first public preview, we just have to wait for one more month only.

 

According to Tami, the next version will be known as “Windows 8.1”, which we already know as “Windows Blue”.

 

Tami Reller also announced that, Windows 8.1 will be freely available as update to existing Windows 8 and Windows RT consumers through Windows Store, but she didn’t confirm about the availability of the preview update to the Windows RT customers using the Microsoft Surface device.
