That’s a good question asked by Alan in my last post “Why the Frame Rate Counter is not available in my Windows Phone 7 Emulator?” Ok, to answer to this query, there could be some different issues/solutions for this.

Let’s discuss more on this query here. If you are facing the same issue, this post might help you. There could be different possibilities too. If you have different solution, please use the comment link to submit your approach here.

Possible Reasons

If you didn’t read my previous article, read it here: “What is Frame Rate Counter in WP7?”. If you are not able to view your Phone 7 Frame Rate Counter panel in your phone emulator, there could be different possibilities. Some of them are as mentioned below:

    1. It may be one of the reason that your hardware doesn’t support it. Frame Rate counter requires at least DirectX 10 supported Graphics Card to be installed in your PC. If you have less than that, you will not be able to view it.
    2. Make sure that, you are running your application in Debug mode. By default it is enabled to run in debug mode only.
    3. Verify that you didn’t explicitly commented out or removed the code to Enable Frame Rate Counter present in the constructor of your App.xaml.cs file.
    4. Also verify that, you didn’t explicitly set the settings value of EnableFrameRateCounter to “false”.

If you have any other alternative solution, please drop a line in the feedback page. I will update it here. If you are not aware of Frame Rate Counter in Windows Phone 7, read my last post “What is Frame Rate Counter in WP7?”
